Excerpt from Stacks, a defendant and complainant at the Hall of Justice in San Jose in winter 2022

Stacks: […] it kinda seems like, like the court uses the law as it wants to use the law. As it thinks it supposed to be used. Or how it wants to be used for that moment.

Interviewer: Mhm.

Stacks: But the law is the law. It's not, it's not um, it's not perception. It's not like a—this is how I perceive it, you know I mean? No, no this is the law. This is what it states. This is what it is.

Interviewer: Mhm.

Stacks: And those laws should also be checked before they go into effect. They should be checked, triple checked against the Constitution. To find out if it's unconstitutional or not. Because a lot of laws that are in place are unconstitutional.
